The fabrics known as TSUMUGI are made using threads that are not unform in texture, with some thick and some thin, and others with knots, which gives the woven fabric a variety of different looks. When these products are made into kimonos, they about warmth, simplicity, durability, or lightness, each with its own unique texture and feel, giving them individuality. Another feature of TSUMUGI is that is “pre-dyed.” Pre-dyed means that the threads are dyed with the final pattern in mind before the fabric is woven. Therefore, one of its characteristics is that the outlines of pattern appear faded.
It is in very good condition. There are a few stains on the back of the collar and lining of the kimono, but they are completely invisible from the outside.
